Character Design Creation
Teaching with Technology. This lesson incorporates fun activities with the basics of character design. It is a building block into various digital projects, and is for a studio class setting. Adaptable to many media, and is introspective to the student. The final outcome is a contemporary self-portrait.
Middle School
Art History
This lesson is designed for middle school students to build their knowledge toolbox; learning about the artist Keith Haring, in addition to building painting skills. Exposing students to new materials such as canvas board, and new techniques, layering sharpie over acrylic paint. Students even get to learn about graffiti and mural art, a topic that is sure to ignite learning.
Elementary School
Art History
Learning Art History starts at any age level, the earlier the better. This lesson incorporates the familiar with the unfamiliar, using primary colors to learn about the artist Piet Mondrian. Students are also exposed to a new way of creating, with cut paper and collage processes. Designed to coincide with Valentines Day, the heart shaped artwork encourages sharing art with someone you love.
High School
Responsive Teaching Practices
Ice breaker, or introduction lesson. This poster project builds foundational skills using digital design, and opens up communication between students. In addition this can be used to break the ice between teachers and students.
